Safety Drill

In continuation with the exercise to create awareness among the students about disaster management, a mock evacuation drill involving students and teachers was conducted from classes III to X on 14th May’2024 to create awareness among the students about evacuation techniques and the ways to respond swiftly in times of any emergency situation.

The mock drill was carried out in the school to prepare students and teachers for any such eventuality.  The purpose to organize the mock drill was to check the readiness of the school to face any such emergency and also to make the students and staff aware about the exit plan to be followed in emergency and to mitigate panic and timely evacuation.

A group of teachers and student volunteers armed with necessary things required for rescue operations positioned themselves at vantage points to guide and assist the students in the mock evacuation drill.  The students were escorted by their subject teachers to the school ground after the bell alarm.  Once all had assembled on the ground, they were advised not to panic in case of any disaster.  They were instructed to be with teachers at the time of disaster and follow the instructions given to them by their teachers.

The “evacuation” operation began immediately after the alarm alerted the students.  The students were immediately evacuated from their classrooms and asked to gather at the designated areas.  Keeping all the safety measures, the entire building was successfully evacuated within 3.5 minutes.
