Every day is a celebration at Open Sky. Today, Thursday, 13.04.23, Baisakhi was celebrated with great enthusiasm and high spirits. The school was decorated depicting the harvest season. The children celebrated the festival by presenting poems, skit, story of Panj Pyare. They also shared that how harvest festivals of India are celebrated in different regions of India with different names like Bihu, Onam, Pongal, Ugadi. Children explained  the importance of the festival by showcasing the Punjabi culture, importance of farmers and food. Dhol beats and Punjabi folk music added to the excitement. For the celebration the children were dressed in colourful Punjabi traditional attires. They relished Baisakhi special “Halwa” to mark the festivity. The motive behind the celebrations was to apprise the children of their rich culture and heritage. While speaking on the occasion, Dr Sonu Sharma, Chairperson of the school, said that it is the beginning of the new Hindu year and it was a day of joy for all of us as Baisakhi is not only a harvest festival but also an auspicious day because on this day Guru Gobind Singh had established the “Khalsa Panth”.

Orientation Program

Another add-on to the valuable partnership between the school and the parents is through Orientation Programme. By planning a wide range of programs throughout the year, together we strengthen this relationship and the learning process. Orientation program was held on 1st April,2023 for parents of Classes Nur-V, which enabled parents to assimilate all the required information regarding the school for a better and more focused involvement of their wards. The orientation was conducted in two different sessions – Nur – Prep & I - V. Mrs. Bharti Arora, Principal, Open Sky shared her expert advice on ‘Settling the child when starting school’.The programme was conducted to give parents an insight into the curriculum and teaching methodology of the school. They were apprised with the curriculum, use of V3M app and exam related queries relevant for each class level.

Open Sky celebrated 74th Republic Day with great patriotic fervour on 26th January, 2023. The programme commenced with the unfurling of the tricolour by Mrs. Asha Sharma, President, SDAV society accompanied by Dr. Sonu Sharma, Chairperson Open Sky, Mrs. Bharti Arora, Principal, Open Sky, followed by the National Anthem. The celebration included patriotic poems on the importance of Republic Day and on the Constitution of India, nukkad natak on the constitution of India. The highlight was Republic Day parade by the students of Open Sky on “ Kartavya Path”. Artistic yoga, dumble drill, various dance performances on patriotic songs by the students were part of this parade. The cherished tableau presentation depicting the state of Haryana on Kartavya path. The tableau radiated an appeal of spirituality, art and history. Also, the mission started way back, by the Haryana Government in 2017 – Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao has shown its success – with daughters of Haryana (Geeta Phogat, Sakshi Malik, Manushi Chhillar) bringing laurels was depicted in the tableau. The President, in her address apprised the gathering, briefly about the making of the Indian Constitution, its unique features and appreciated the performances showcased. The parent audience watched the live streaming on You tube. Post Republic Day celebration, the school welcomed spring with great enthusiasm by celebrating Basant Panchami. The students presented a Saraswati Vandana, as a divine tribute to Goddess Saraswati and also invoked the goddess through shloka recitation. A pooja was organised on the campus. Everybody paid obeisance to Goddess Saraswati on the occasion and sought divine blessings.

There is no joy greater than seeing our students accomplishing what they have been hoping for and working toward fulfilling their dreams. Heartiest congratulations to our young Open Skiites, for it is a matter of  immense pride and  jubilation, as we bagged a  Second prize in Group Folk Dance competition, First Prize in Innovision ( Science model making)  and Second prize in Innovation for well-being    (AI – 3-D Model) in the prestigious interschool competition - Swapnil Rang 2022 organised by Lion Public School, sector 10 A, where 267 participants from various prestigious schools of Gurugram participated to showcase their talent. Open Sky also grabbed the overall trophy of the event. The entire Open Sky fraternity is extremely proud of the outstanding achievements and conveys their wishes to the winners for their laudable journey .
