School Trip to Delhi

The school organized an educational trip-cum-picnic for the students of Classes I - III on 7th November 2023 to Delhi Zoo, National Rail Museum and Kartavya Path. The trip was both informative and entertaining.

It was a great learning experience for the students as they acquired more knowledge about different animals in the zoo. They had a thrilling experience watching biggest cats to the tiniest birds. The excursion was not just a pleasure trip; rather it was an extension of the classrooms. Their visit to the ceremonial boulevard, Kartavya Path filled the hearts of the students with the spirit of national pride.

At National Rail Museum, students became familiar with 166 years of rich heritage of Indian Railway. Students were excited to see the exhibits depicting history of rail transport in India. They learnt about the evolution of railways in India and enjoyed the toy train ride also. The delicious food at Rail Museum made the day more memorable for them.

Students were energetic even during the return journey and their beaming faces bore testimony to the fun they had. They returned with a fresh enthusiasm for studies. The visit helped the students to relax and rejuvenate.

SOF Olympiad

Yet another euphoric moment for the school as our young aspiring students, have cleared SOF National  General Knowledge,English Olympiad level 1. The entire Open Sky family and the School Management convey their  Heartiest Congratulations to the children and the proud parents.

Ishaan Yadav – On the journey of Making India Proud

“ Everyday is an opportunity disguised as a challenge”.

Ishan Yadav, student of Open Sky has proved this by grabbing every opportunity and taking it as a challenge. Open Sky family and the School Management convey their  heartiest congratulations to him and the proud parents for getting selected for the Rifle shooting event at the national level( for 25 meter category) by giving amazing performance in Bhopal. He has proved that it is possible for everyone to choose to be extraordinary.

Heritage Quiz

A Heritage Quiz was conducted in Open Sky on 30.11.23 which is aimed to highlight India’s multifaceted heritage. The competition was conducted for the students of class VI – IX. Four teams with four students each participated in the quiz. The event was graced by Dr. Sonu Sharma, Chairperson Open Sky, as the Chief Guest. This was a prestigious event to celebrate and glorify the heritage of India.

Ignited Minds

“True to its philosophy, Open Sky is nurturing the talents of the young inquisitive minds by providing them a platform to showcase their amazing, innovative and ingenious skills.”

 

The Science fair- IGNITED MINDS, based on theme ‘TOYS AND TECHNOLOGY’ was held in Open Sky on 18.11.23. Under the impeccable guidance of the Chairperson, Dr. Sonu Sharma, the exhibition aimed to promote high standards in Science and motivate students towards application based learning and the students of classes VII - IX put their projects on display for the same to showcase their talents in science, exploring practical applications in their various innovative ideas.

Eulogizing the efforts of the students, Chairperson, Open Sky, appreciated the different and interesting ideas picked up by the students for presentation. She laid stress upon the need to motivate students towards application-based learning. She stated that the objective this exhibition is to review the fundamental concepts of science in a creative manner and make learning enjoyable and interesting. Ignited Minds, provided a vent to the students to think and bring out their inherent creativity and helped students explore the magic of science.

Bhartiya Yuva Sansad

With a view to strengthen the tenets of democracy, inculcating discipline and tolerance to the views of others and to enable the students to understand the working of Parliament, Open Sky, Sector 5, Gurugram,  decided to holdBhartiya Yuva Sansad (Mock Parliament Session) on 10.11.23. with the theme – Think India, For India.

The session was a simulation of the parliamentary proceedings of legislature and executive, based upon the Indian Parliamentary system. It helped Open Sky students to establish, promote and advocate social and political changes through legislature. The students, by simulating bodies and houses of the Indian Parliament system learnt about diplomacy, effective communication, national / international relations and politics, and the working of the parliament in general. All the parliamentary formalities were followed. The students were very enthusiastic about it and they took part in it with the same spirit. The agenda for this mock session was – Reviewing the commitment made by the government of India to farmers and farmer organisations in regard to MSP and other demands raised. The students learnt to raise issues of social and national importance. The event boosted their confidence and they really honed their debating skill.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Sonu Sharma, expressed her happiness on this occasion and inspired the young parliamentarians to make the best use of such opportunities provided. She said that these types of activities are important for the overall development of students.

Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign @2023

Cleanliness has much importance in everyone’s life. It is vital for a healthy body, mind and spirit. Every individual is taught the importance of cleanliness right from their childhood, especially at school. Recognizing the vital role in spreading cleanliness awareness and implementation, Open Sky, Gurugram, undertook the Swacchta Abhiyan on 04.10.23. Under the program the students of Grade 9,10 and Grade 4,5 took up the responsibility of cleaning different areas in and around school.

The teachers of Eco- club addressed the students stressing upon the fact that we need to work hand in hand for the success of the campaign. The cleanliness drive held by the school was in accordance to the nation-wide Swachhata Hi Seva Campaign launched by Ministry of Jal Shakti and Ministry of Education, Government of India. The school chalked out a plan to organize the drive in order to raise the awareness amongst the students. The students took a pledge to clean their schools, homes, public places and surroundings.

The whole drive was quite inspiring and motivating for the staff and students. The students realized that any work is best done when it is carried out by the person himself. It also made the students aware of the dignity of labour.

Gandhi Jayanti Session 2023-24

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Open Sky organized a special assembly to commemorate the birth of the Father of the Nation on 04.10.23.

The staff and the students cleaned the school area as a part of the scheduled Cleanliness Drive. The unparalleled zeal and enthusiasm of the participants was instrumental in helping to realize the dream of Mahatma Gandhi.

The event commenced with the administration of the Swachhata Pledge by the students. Through skits and poems they emphasized the ideals of non-violence, Swachh Bharat as well as eradicating the caste-based system. Their presentations elaborated on how they consider Mahatma Gandhi to be the bravest and strongest man.

The poems by the students articulated and reflected the beliefs held by Mahatma Gandhi. The students presented a picture of the values expounded by him, reiterating the importance of fearlessness as well as leading a life free of material possessions, and adopting the use of Khadi. Lastly, various incidents from the freedom struggle were showcased in order to bring out his greatness, dedication to Ahimsa; and the crucial role he played in the liberation of the country.

Hindi Diwas @2023

Hindi Diwas is celebrated every year on 14th September. To mark this occasion, Open Sky celebrated Hindi Diwas with great zeal and enthusiasm this year also. It was an enriching celebration of the Hindi Diwas that inspired our students to take pride in Hindi Language.

Students participated in various activities like  Nukkad natak, muhavaron ka khel activity, doha gayan, kavita gayan , debate. Children also designed thought- provoking and beautiful posters , slogans.

Health Check Up Camp Session 2023-24

“Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness” therefore, Open Sky, organised its annual health check up program on 29.09.30 in its premises. Eminent doctors from CanWinn Foundation, Gurugram visited the school with a dedicated team of specialized doctors.

As health checkups not only aim to help the students to prevent illness but also to make changes in the lifestyle for long-term healthy life and so they underwent a comprehensive body check up, the initiative was taken to prepare a comprehensive health profile of all the school students from class Nursery-X. Health checkups such as optometry, dental, ENT and general health to help early diagnosis and prevent and control a numerous health disorders were conducted.
