Science Exhibition 2024 - A Celebration of Innovation

On December 7, 2024, Open Sky hosted its dynamic Science Exhibition, where students showcased their innovative ideas and scientific projects. The event featured a wide variety of exhibits, from robotics and renewable energy to environmental conservation. The event featured over 35 of projects, including the Balancing Butterfly, a captivating demonstration of physics, and the Kaleidoscope, which amazed visitors with its geometric designs. Other notable projects included the Mini Water Cooler,Electric lift, Alert eye, etc. Visitors had the opportunity to engage with interactive, hands-on displays that brought scientific concepts to life. Students also delivered insightful presentations, explaining their research and creative approaches to solving real-world problems. The event was an inspiring showcase of our students' talent, curiosity, and dedication to science, and we thank everyone who contributed to its success.

Educational trip to Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary

As part of the Yuva Tourism Club initiative, students of Grades 8 and 9 embarked on an exciting trip to Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary on 7th December 2024. The excursion provided students with a unique opportunity to explore the wonders of nature and learn about biodiversity in an interactive way.The serene landscapes and sightings of birds and migratory species thrilled everyone.

The students enjoyed birdwatching, nature walks, and an engaging session on bird conservation and the importance of ecosystems. They also participated in a nature walk along the sanctuary's well-laid trails,watching the serene landscapes and vibrant wildlife .The trip was both educational and inspiring, fostering a love for the environment and a deeper understanding of the need for conservation. This memorable excursion was a perfect mix of fun and learning, inspiring students to appreciate and protect our natural world.

Sports Day'2024

Our school recently held its Junior Sports Day for students from Nursery to Class 3, and it was a memorable event filled with joy and enthusiasm. The little ones participated in fun races like the sack race, lemon-and-spoon race, and obstacle race, giving their best efforts and delighting everyone with their cheerful energy. Students also presented lively dance performances that added rhythm and color to the event.

We were honoured to welcome Ms. Asha Sharma and Dr. Sonu Sharma as our chief guest and guest of honour, who encouraged the young athletes to always embrace teamwork and sportsmanship. What made the event even more special was the involvement of senior students, who took on the responsibility of organising the function. They managed everything smoothly, from coordinating activities to cheering on the juniors, making the day enjoyable for all. It was a wonderful experience that fostered unity and celebration across the school!

Dussehra celebration

Open Sky  embraced the festive spirit of Dussehra, celebrating this significant occasion that marks the victory of good over evil. The celebrations were filled with excitement and creativity, featuring a lively Ramp Walk where students showcased their traditional attire, embodying characters from the Ramayana.

A captivating Ramleela performance highlighted key scenes from the epic, with students passionately bringing the story to life. Our pre-primary children added to the celebration by dressing up as various characters and performing cheerful dances, delighting everyone in attendance.

The event beautifully combined creativity, culture, and community spirit, reflecting the essence of Dussehra. We are proud of our students’ enthusiasm and look forward to more vibrant celebrations in the future!

Promise to Protect: A Tobacco-Free Future Campaign at Open Sky School

"Tobacco-Free Future" campaign, an initiative by Ministry of Health and Education was held which was designed to educate students about the harmful effects of tobacco and promote a healthier lifestyle. The campaign aimed to empower our students to make informed choices and cultivate a supportive environment free from tobacco use.

Throughout the campaign, students engaged in a variety of activities that encouraged creativity and awareness. Posters were made, allowing students to express their thoughts on the dangers of tobacco through art. The impressive posters created by our students are now displayed throughout the school, sparking important conversations about health and wellness.
In addition, students participated in a slogan writing, crafting impactful phrases that promote a tobacco-free lifestyle.
The key highlight of the campaign was the pledge, where students took a pledge as a commitment to remain tobacco-free. 
Through these engaging activities, the "Tobacco-Free Future" campaign successfully raised awareness about the risks of tobacco use and fostered a sense of community commitment to health and well-being.

"Swachhata Hi Sewa" campaign

Recently  "Swachhata Hi Sewa" campaign was organised in Open Sky School as an initiative that focused on promoting cleanliness and environmental awareness. It was observed on 1st October,2024 as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi,Father of Nation.

 The activities included a Cleanliness Drive, where students and staff collaborated to clean various areas of the school, instilling a sense of pride and responsibility for our surroundings. We also conducted a Water Audit, encouraging students to assess and improve our water conservation practices. Additionally, a Plantation Drive was held, with students enthusiastically planting saplings around the campus to enhance greenery. Overall, the campaign successfully fostered awareness about cleanliness and sustainability, inspiring school community to work together for a cleaner, healthier environment.

Workshop on Decision Making

On Tuesday,1st October, Open Sky School had the privilege of hosting an insightful workshop on decision-making, led by the esteemed Ms. Meenu Bhargava. As a renowned educator and expert in personal development, she brought her vast knowledge and experience to our students, helping them navigate the often complex process of making informed choices.

The workshop aimed to equip participants with essential skills for effective decision-making, which are crucial for their academic and personal lives. She engaged the students with interactive activities and real-life scenarios that encouraged critical thinking and self-reflection.

This workshop has undoubtedly left a lasting impact on our students, empowering them to approach decision-making with clarity and purpose.

 

Trip to Jim Corbett National Park

On September 30, students from grades 7 to 10 at Open Sky School had an incredible adventure at Jim Corbett National Park. The trip kicked off with a visit to the beautiful Girija Temple, where students learned about its cultural significance along the banks of the Kosi River. They then explored the stunning landscapes of the Kosi River and participated in rituals at the sacred Hanuman Mandir.

Thrill-seekers enjoyed a range of exciting adventure sports, followed by relaxation at the swimming pool in their accommodation. The highlight of the trip was an exhilarating safari through the park, where students spotted an array of wildlife, including majestic tigers and elephants, while gaining insights from knowledgeable naturalists.

This memorable excursion not only provided thrilling experiences but also deepened students' understanding of biodiversity and the importance of conservation, fostering a greater appreciation for nature and local culture. We look forward to more such enriching adventures in the future!

Trip to Agra

On September 22, students from grades 4 to 6 at Open Sky School embarked on an exciting educational trip to Agra, home of the iconic Taj Mahal. This excursion provided a wonderful opportunity to explore the rich history, culture, and architectural wonders of the area.

The adventure began at Sikandra Fort, the final resting place of Emperor Akbar, where students were captivated by the serene surroundings and the unique blend of architectural styles. They then visited Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which offered breathtaking views of the Taj Mahal and showcased stunning Mughal architecture. The journey continued to Fatehpur Sikri, another UNESCO World Heritage Site, renowned for its striking red sandstone structures.

To wrap up the day, students enjoyed a delightful meal at Pushpvilla, where they sampled traditional Mughlai cuisine, enhancing their cultural experience. This trip not only enriched their understanding of India’s historical heritage but also encouraged teamwork, curiosity, and exploration. The captivating tales of the Mughal era and the remarkable architecture left a lasting impression on all the students.

Health Checkup'2024

On September23 and 24, Open Sky School partnered with Starlight Foundation to conduct a comprehensive health checkup for our students. This initiative aimed to promote health awareness, early detection of potential health issues, and overall well-being among our school community.

The event featured a team of qualified healthcare professionals from Starlit Foundation, who provided thorough checkups for students across various grades. Their expertise and dedication made this health checkup a resounding success, ensuring that our students received the care and attention they deserve.
