Republic Day’2024

Our school Open Sky, Sector 5 celebrated 75th Republic Day with great fervour in the school premises. It was the matter of great pride for all of us. The programme commenced with the unfurling of the tricolour by our Chief Guest, hon’ble President ma’am Mrs. Asha Sharma accompanied by Chairperson, Open Sky, Dr. Sonu Sharma. After the National Anthem, March Past was conducted by the students.

Despite weather being inclement, all the teachers as well as the students enjoyed the Republic Day celebrations with great enthusiasm. The cultural program in which students of classes V – IX participated included skit on rights and duties of every Indian citizen, patriotic poem, lazium, hoopla, cymbals drill and folk dances of various states of India.

As National Voters’ Day is also celebrated on 25th January, a nukkad natak to create awareness among the teachers and students about the importance of voting in the electoral process was presented by students of class IX. The presentation focused on the fact that the right to vote is a basic right and to vote is our fundamental duty. Teachers and Students were made to pledge for the same.

The Chief guest, in her address apprised the gathering, briefly about the making of the Indian Constitution, its unique features and the fact that all students and the younger generation need to know about the Constitution in order to understand how they have to live life in future. She motivated the students to be enlightened citizens of the country, to participate in the development and improvement of the society around them, to be aware of the challenges that the country faces and resolve to find answers and contribute to the nation’s progress since they are the future of the country.
